Anne Michal started Jack on this new thing where when we drive down the road he looks for the letters of the alphabet in order. She started this because he doesn't like driving in the car and is much more ingenious than I am at occupying him. So we were driving to church and he had just found "Q".He asked me what letter came after "Q", adn I told him "P." He quickly informed me that "R" came after "Q" not "R." I kind of laughed and asked him why he was asking me if he already knew. He said, "That's OK,Mom.You just messed up...that's all."

and for no real reason. I did get to sleep in. Emma and Elizabeth slept in and Anne Michal kept Jack mostly occupied, but you know no one can answer a question quite like mom!!! I was even really tired throughout the day and kept laying down, but it just seemed like a good peaceful day. The kids got all their schoolwork done in record time. Anne Michal made cookies for community group. It was pleasant outside and the kids were able to play. The windows were open and I could hear their chatter. I love sitting (or laying ) in my living room and enjoying the sun of the outdoors streaming in. I still haven't gotten used to how much natural light our house gets. I am always thinking someone has let the door open and that is why it is so light. I love calm, peaceful, ordinary days.

I promised pics of my Roman Shades a while back so here they are. A live and learn lesson. I pieced two of them together thinking if I matched it up well it wouldn't be noticable. I didn't think about the fact that the light shining through them would make it stand out. No matter how hard I have tried I haven't been able to get a good picture so this will have to do.

Then I appliqued this pocket o a T for Jack. I took the pocket off a old skirt. I have another pocket to put on a short-sleeved shirt. Thanks for the idea Marsha.

And lastly I appliqued some onesies for Christian from pieces of fabric and then blanket-stitched around them with embroidery floss.

I forgot to post my method which does not dirty a second bowl. Jack just has issues. I put the dollop of peanutbutter on the side of the bowl and scoop off of that. I think it would be good with honeynut chex and frosted miniwheat just not with really sweet sugary cereals.
